Rocker Chris Cornell Enlists The Services Of Super Producer Timbo On His Latest Album

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has enlisted the services of none other than super producer himself Timbaland for his upcoming album titled “Scream”. Timbo's had the midas touch as of late cranking out successful pop hits for Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Madonna and One Republic. So it only makes sense that Chris Cornell chose to link with Timbo, who has some unexpected free time now that he’s not producing The Blueprint 3. Earlier this week on Ryan Seacrest's "On Air" radio show Timbo had this to say about the collaboration between himself and Cornell.

This is the best work I've done in my career.

Cornell was equally enthusiastic about the work and had this to say about how it all went down.

For me, it was sort of a natural thing, to go out and make a record I hadn't made before. It wasn't a situation where I sat for a long time and thought about what my next move should be. It was quick, and the idea came to me after Timbaland had done a couple of remixes from the Carry On album. It got back to me that he was actually a fan and was interested in doing original material, and I got on the phone with him, and I suggested we go make a whole album. He was interested in that idea, and before I knew it, we were in the studio.

Reports are that the album should be out sometime next month. But the real question is Do I Care? And the answer is kinda. Since I’m a timbo fan and have been one since “One In A Million” my sheer faith in the quality of his production as well as him endorsing the album as the "best work of his career" will encourage me to at least take the time to check out the album.

Jay-Z: "If Barack Loses I Really Will Feel Sorry and Sad For The State Of America"

Hov was recently quoted as saying:

If (Barack Obama) loses I really will feel sorry and sad for the state of America. The world is watching. And the world will judge us on that … And I’m not voting for him simply because he’s black. The worst thing ever for black people would be to put someone in who wasn’t capable. (But) what he represents to a little kid in Marcy Projects right now is to make him feel like he’s part of America. We never felt like we were part of the American dream
.

I couldn't agree more.

Obama By Versace!

Barak Obama's swagger is clicking on all cylinders right now, Obamania as some have dubbed has reached a new high as Versace just rolled out their new clothing line inspired by the presidential hopeful himself; affectionately titled Obama by Versace. I guess Obama can now add fashion icon to his extensive resume.

50 Cent Talkin Reckless On The Cocaine City DVD

This nigga 50 is on one on this shit. Feeling himself to the highest degree, the way he was talking you could almost forget that he was signed and dropped by Columbia records, and his career didnt take off until after he was stabbed up and shot 9 times over the span of a few months. And even then no one was really trying to hear what he had to say but once Eminem signed him and Dr.Dre co-signed him his career took off. If you listen to him tell it, he'd say it was all part of his plan but in actuality he got lucky in more ways than one and turned the worst thing that happened to him into the best thing that happened to him. Where would 50 be without Eminem, Dr. Dre and those 9 shots almost killed him? Still on the block hustlin.

Video: Shaq to Kobe "Tell Me How My Ass Taste"

Now we all know Kobe snitched on Shaq for cheating on his wife way back during Kobe's rape trail, Kobe even went as far as to tell the feds that Shaq pays women a million to keep quiet. But no one expected Shaq to retaliated 4 years later like this! And whats this whole "Tell me how my ass taste" line about? I don't know, that shit sounds mad homo to me. If Shaq had an issue with Kobe's snitching choke artist ass he should've called Kobe out on that shit back then, its kinda petty to wait all this time and then finally call the nigga Kobe out. Thats like putting R.Kelly on trial for child pornography 4 years after the sex tape surfaced.

Barak Obama's Fatherhood Speech

This speech is the amazing, he touched on one of the biggest issues in the black community. I hope that the next generation of fathers and even this current generation are listening and taking notice. The epidemic of absentee fathers in black community has crippled us and impeded our progress for too long and hopefully with this speech and other speeches like this, we can move toward a day where more black fathers are taking their responsibilities seriously and raising their children. With as many high profile black people out there with the ability to speak on relevant issues to many waist their celebrity and influence talking about nonsense. What Obama is saying is an old truth that we've all been aware of for some time now and its something that should have been said a long long time ago. As proud as I am of Obama, I'm equally disappointed in all those black people that have come before Obama that have passed on numerous opportunities to say these types of things when they knew the whole world was listening. What Obama is saying takes a tremendous amount of courage and exposes many of our so-called heroes (in the publics eyes) as the self absorbed cowards that they are, too scared to address the real issues.

Barack Obama wins the Democratic Party Nomination!

June 03, 2008

The political hegemony of people of European descent in America was dealt a crucial blow today as Barack Hussein Obama earned the Democratic Party’s Nomination for President of the United States. Obama shares this distinction with prominent names in American history such as William Jefferson Clinton, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and slaveowner Andrew Jackson. Mr. Obama’s nomination comes after a remarkable campaign that has inspired an unprecedented amount of voter involvement and setting records for campaign contributions.

Technicalities aside, Mr. Obama’s nomination marks the farthest a “black” person has gone up the symbolic power structure of America.

This is the same America where 40 years ago, the idea of inequality of the races was as prevalent as the idea of driving on the correct side of the street. However, despite the 300 year head start by European Americans, and violent, sadistic resistance to the humanity of “black” people, Barack Obama has been given the opportunity to appeal to the public for the privilege of being our country’s next political leader, and commander-in-chief of America’s armed forces.

Enough with the parades, though…

No matter what you feel about politics, this marks a change in the objective history of the racial power struggle . White people have been giving us shit all our lives about how we are lazy and stupid, how our cultures are “primitive”, and continue to degrade all people of color as if we aren’t human. Even though not all white people are explicitly racist, all white people benefit from the inhumane acts that have been perpetrated against truly innocent, good people worldwide whose only crime was not having white skin.

As we see from worldwide protests against Bush, the president of the USA is a visible symbol of power; a power which normally belongs to the racist white establishment. Obama winning this nomination is a major step in bringing the truth to the light, by breaking this myth that only white people can be considered for such a responsibility.

The ‘race’ now is for the votes of the American people, as opposed to non-white people facing violent opposition to being respected as citizens.

No matter what happens from this point on, we have clear evidence that this long standing idea of racial superiority or inferiority in society is a mytha fucking myth! Wake up! WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FREE!

Black is not just beautiful…it’s American, it’s human, and today it’s
Barack Obama.

Michael Jackson Shows Up To UFC 84

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan and have blindly defended the man for years but his latest stunt has me saying what the fuck?

According to TMZ.....
“MJ rolled up to the event in a wheelchair, just in time to watch Tito Ortiz get smacked around ... that is, if he could see anything through those ridiculously blacked out shades.”
You mean to tell me that the King Of Pop rolled in to UFC 84 last Saturday night in a wheel chair and on top of that dressed in a damn ninja monk outfit??? Way to be inconspicuous Mike, I'm sure no one was suspicious when they seen a pale man in an all black ninja suit being pushed around the arena by a team of bodyguards. Mike is ridiculous for this one! and I would love to hear his rational behind the wheel chair. It was bad enough he was in a fuckin' ninja monk outfit but the wheel chair took it over the top for me.

Jay-Z & Kanye West Make History Once Agian

Jay-Z and Kanye West are helping rewrite the record books once again with their Heart of the City and Glow In The Dark tours. Pollister estimates that Jay-Z and Mary J’s Heart of the City Tour, which ends this month, will bring in $23 million. And Kanye West’s Glow In The Dark Tour is estimated to bring in $21 million when it ends this June.

These two concerts could replace 2005’s Anger Management Tour ($21 million) as the highest grossing hip hop tours of all time. And mark a turning point in hip hop, a turning point that many other genres have already made, where concert revues help replace the money lost from plummeting record sales.

It looks like Jay-Z & Ye were right when they said diamonds are forever, the ROC is definitely in the building.

Kobe Jumps Over A Pool Of Snakes: Real Or Fake?

In Kobe's latest stunt video he appears to jump over a pool of snakes AND dunk a basketball. In a recent Nike Commercial he leaped over a moving Aston Martin and didn't dunk a basketball. Then shortly after he went on PTI (ESPN) and admitted (in not so many words) it wasn't real.

So the question is....Do you think this video is real? Personally I don't but you be the judge.

Enough With The Geriatric Action Heroes Already!

The newest installment in the Indian Jones series debuted last weekend in theaters and I have this to say is...

Who gives a fuck!

People like myself are not interested in these old ass action heroes flicks with geriatric actors trying to reprise roles they played in 3o years prior when they were in their late 20's. A true mid-life crisis if I ever seen one!

First they brought back Arnold who was 55 at time to do Terminator 3 (2003) 19 years after the first Terminator (1984).

Then it was Bruce Willis turn, 19 years after the first Die Hard to do Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard. Why was their a need to Die Hard again after Bruce Willis already Died Hard 3 times already.

And finally everyone favorite sterioded up action hero Sylvester Stallone did a series of tired ass movie franchise remakes. The first being Rocky Balboa (2006) or as I like to call it Rocky 10, 4 sequels and 30 years after the original Rocky (1976). Then just to put the icing on the cake and cement his place in the geriatric action hero hall of fame, he did a remake of his 1984 Blockbuster hit Rambo in 2008 and is currently working on "Rambo V". Now Harrison Ford has thrown his name in the hat for geriatric action hero of the century with Indian Jones 4: Escape From The Old Folks Home.

I mean you don't see Hollywood bigwigs trying to dust off Max Julien to do a sequel to the Mack, The Mack 2: Old Folks Home Pimpin'. I'm just saying whats next??

Are they going grab Brad Pitt in 2016 to do Fight Club 2: The Viagra League? This shits got to stop, get some young creative screenwriters to come up with some fresh concepts and stop trying to resurrect tired ass movie franchise hits in their twilight. Been there, Done that!

Diddy Says Kanye's Concert "Changed His Life"

In a rare video blog Hip-Hop mogul Diddy keeps it real and has a certified "Brown Sugar" moment as he recollects the story of the day he fell in love with hip-hop, how hip-hop saved his life and how Kanye West's Glow In The Dark Tour changed his life and rekindled his love for hip-hop all over again.

I may not agree with everything diddy says or does (including his contribution to producing bullshit records), but I have to give it to him on this one. He hit the nail right on the head. Everyone who say went to the
Glow In the Dark Tour raved about it in the same way that Diddy did, some even called the concert Spiritual, it was that good.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen the Glow In the Dark Tour myself, but I did get a chance to experience the Heart of City Tour and without a doubt that concert was the perfect example of why I was so sure that hip-hop was the one for me. Prior to that concert, I had reached a point with hip-hop (more so mainstream hip-hop) where I had all but given up on it. I've been in love with hip-hop music since before I even knew what it was way back in '94. Fastforward to 14 years later 2008, I was all but ready to put in my divorce papers siting irreconcilable differences between me and hip hop. But before the divorce was finalized, I attended the "Heart of the City Concert". And Jay-Z ripped it (at the Hollywood Bowl) and resurrected all those feeling that helped me fall in love with hip-hop in the first place. All I can say is......

[Hip Hop] I Still Love Her!

Check out Kanye's Track "I Still Love Her"

Damn It, I Was There!! "The Suge Knight KO'd Story"

As many of you may know Suge Knight was knock out at Club Shag in Hollywood this past Saturday and Nigga I WAS THERE!!! The Internet has been going nuts over this story. Its like a million youtube videos about it already, and even a "Suge Got Knocked The Fuck Out (R&B remix)" Video on YouTube.

The unfortunate part of the story is that my dumb ass left the club early because it wasn't poppin enough for me and I went to the Cabana Club (which was poppin), and after hearing about Suge getting knocked out all I can say is: I LEFT TOO EARLY, I missed the best part of the night at Shag. FUCK! Next time I'm at club and it ain't exactly poppin, I'm gone stay my ass right there because you never know what former celebrity just might get their ass whooped INFRONT OF THE CLUB.

I've met Suge on 2 occasions and he didn't seem like the bad guy that every makes him out to be. So when I first heard the story, I was tempted to side with Suge. Like damn, why you have go and do Suge like that, what did he ever do to you?? Then I found out that Suge started this whole shit by jumping the nigga that would eventually knock him out. Suge started it and he ended it.

JUSTICE SERVED.

And as you can expect everyone and they momma will be at Shag next Saturday hoping to see a rematch. There's nothing like a 300-pound gang-related former celebrity ex-record exec getting his ass whooped @ your club to give your club a much need publicity boost.

Tell Em Ye!

Kanye responded to an Entertainment Weekly Review of his Glow In the Dark Tour on his blog Friday. Entertainment Weekly had given the prolific, outspoken and often misunderstood MC's Glow In The Dark Tour a B+, which led Kanye to let out this tirade directed toward Entertainment Weekly and its entire staff....

Yo, anybody that's not a fan; don't come to my show. For what?! To try and throw ya'll two cents in? Ya'll rated my album shitty and now ya'll come to the show and give it a B+. What's a B+ mean? I'm an extremist. It's either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, fuck you and the whole fucking staff!!! I know I shouldn't dignify this with a comment, but the reviewer threw a jab at all the artists. I just wanna know when was the last time you enjoyed yourself. If you can't have fun and lose yourself at this tour it's a good chance you're a very miserable person. I actually feel sorry for you guys. Your job forces you to not have fun anymore. Grab a drink, holla at some nice girls, and party bitch!! You don't know shit about passion and art. You'll never gain credibility at this rate. You're fucking trash! I make art. You can't rate this. I'm a real person. I'm not a pop star. I don't care about anything but making great art. Never come 2 one of my shows ever again, you're not invited and if you see me...BOW!! This is not pop, it's pop art!

Yeah I'll fuckin say it....for the record I agree completely and whole heartedly with every fucking word that Ye said. Mutha fuckas have been coming at him side ways for sometime now don’t act like you don’t remember that bullshit in France when he wasn’t allowed to attend fashion during fashion week, and we all know fashion is Ye’s thing. Now this aint like them denying my black ass entry, this is fuckin Kanye West we talking about here. So its about time that Ye went off and got in someone ass and it just happened to be bullshit ass Entertainment Weekly. Ye says “You live by the sword, you die by the sword” so obvious the boy is ready to duke it out till the end for his respect.

Electric Circus Part 2?? Bad Idea Revised

Common has been working on his next album reportedly without super producer Kanye West because Ye has been busy with his Glow In The Dark Tour. Common has opted to enlist the aid of The Neptunes, Outkast Producer Mr. DJ & Cee-Lo for his new EP Invincible Summer set for to be released this summer. Comm is reportedly looking to create a New elctro sound for the album. But hasn’t common already done this before with the Electric Circus? Which if I remember correctly, was common’s least well received albums and a commercial failure by most standards…Looks like Common doesn’t know when to let a bad idea go! Sheesh!

Preliminary track listing for Invincible Summer:

"Universal Mind Control (U.M.C.)"
"Make My Day" feat. Cee-Lo
"Punch Love"
"What A World" feat. Chester French
"Changes"
"Party Shit"
"Dreaming"
"Runaway" feat. Santogold

Presidential "Race"

Unless you've been living under a rock, without a TV, newspaper or a freind that talks about politics then you are probably aware that distinguished Sen. Obama is winning the Democratic Primaries. Obama's campaign has withstood all of the Clinton campaign's dirty politics, from them playing the race card (which hasn't worked), insulting his character, and trying to paint a picture that he is an elitist who doesn't sympathize with the poor and working class. And Sen. Hillary Clinton does sympathize with poor and working class?? C'mon now, that right there lets you know her campaign is desperate and will use any tactic no matter how irrational.

And rather than chime in on her latest exhibition into dirty politics Im going to let Michael Moore do it for me. These are few excerpts from a letter Michael Moore posted on his personal website today on why he is voting for Sen. Barak Obama...an interesting read from one of America's most interesting film makers.

My Vote's for Obama (if I could vote)
by Michael Moore

"Over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting. I guess the debate last week was the final straw. I've watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name "Farrakhan" out of nowhere, well that's when the silly season came to an early end for me. She said the "F" word to scare white people, pure and simple. Of course, Obama has no connection to Farrakhan."

"What we are witnessing is not just a candidate but a profound, massive public movement for change. My endorsement is more for Obama The Movement than it is for Obama the candidate."

"Finally, I want to say a word about the basic decency I have seen in Mr. Obama. Mrs. Clinton continues to throw the Rev. Wright up in his face as part of her mission to keep stoking the fears of White America. Every time she does this I shout at the TV, "Say it, Obama! Say that when she and her husband were having marital difficulties regarding Monica Lewinsky, who did she and Bill bring to the White House for 'spiritual counseling?' THE REVEREND JEREMIAH WRIGHT!"

"But no, Obama won't throw that at her. It wouldn't be right. It wouldn't be decent. She's been through enough hurt. And so he remains silent and takes the mud she throws in his face. That's why the crowds who come to see him are so large. That's why he'll take us down a more decent path.”

Yours Truly, Michael Moore.

Great letter Mr. Moore, let’s break the fourth wall.

In a country where racism is firmly lodged into the body politic, a black man running for president scares those whose daily lives depend on such iniquity. When these people make decisions from this standpoint, they wouldn't want to turn the mirror on themselves publicly or people would see their greatest insecurities on display. The overall myth of supremacy of melanin deficient peoples (King Arthur, propagandized images of Socrates and Plato, Issac Newton, George Washington, the Pope, Rupert Murdoch, Bill Gates, etc.) is as important of a lie in our society as the consequences of the Cold War, the Kennedy assassination(s), and this whole al-Qaida puppet show. Barack Obama is the new Ghandi, in that he can affect change by doing absolutely nothing dubious or otherwise objectionable, thus turning a mirror on those whose claim moral superiority is based on this myth of white supremacy. Once they can see that the myth doesn't hold up to the truth, they (like anyone who has been lied to about who they are) will resort to drastic measures as a result of their foundations being shaken, "Clinton". With all of that being said, this is only the beginning.
